We held our first Train in Spain Triathlon Camp on May 20 - 24 in Malaga, Spain, and it was a blast! The weather was perfect and the food was fantastic!
Here's a few photos from the camp:
Swimming
We did two open water swims in the Mediterranean Sea and one pool swim for swim analysis. The water temp of the sea was probably in the low to mid-60's.
Biking
We did several rides - one to Torre del Mar where we practiced T2 transition and ran on the beach, one up into the mountains that had amazing views and some steep descents, and another coastal ride for more bike training.
Running
We did several runs on or near the beach, with one of them through old train tunnels that the local rec path runs through. I didn't get a good photo of the tunnels but got a video of one of the them while I was running on the path, as well as a few videos of the rock outcroppings by the recpath that had stairs up to a platform area:
Educational sessions with the athletes
The food was fabulous!
Trip to Granada for sightseeing, including the tour of Alhambra!
Trip to Malaga City Plaza
Miscellaneous photos from the camp:
We want to thank Nicole and EU, owners of Villa Velo where we hosted the camp. They provided sag support on all the rides, daily athlete breakfasts, Paella dinner, transportation to/from Granada for sightseeing, and transportation to/from the airport. Their lovely villa was perfect for hosting a triathlon camp!
We are going back next year! Want to join us?? Reserve your spot here!
